About the Founder
Dr. Helena Bentley is passionate about children. For more than 30 years, she has treated children with asthma in her Atlanta-based pediatrics offices. She is the Founder of Asthma Action Hero, Inc. a 501(c)(3) organization that provides free resources to children with asthma.
Dr. Bentley graduated from Georgia State University with a BS degree in Biology, and graduated with honors from the University of Florida, School of Medicine in 1982. She completed her pediatric residency training from Emory University affiliated hospitals in 1985. Dr. Bentley is a board certified practicing pediatrician and a member of the medical staff of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
Dr. Bentley has a passion for serving the community through technological innovation that seeks to improve the health care and quality of life of all patients especially those in underserved communities. As the lead physician of a high volume practice, she has been an investigator (PI and SI) in pharmaceutical studies, and has participated in quality improvement projects. She joined the investigative staff of ACMR in the spring of 2016. She has also served on various healthcare boards and committees, and she is
a clinical preceptor to medical students and pediatric residents.
Dr. Bentley supports medical and ministerial mission groups across four continents. She also enjoys gardening and photography.
